- The Burj al Arab is rumoured to never make a profit. The hotel cost around $1 billion to construct and only has 28 guest suites, making it difficult to break-even let alone generate a reasonable profit from! However, it was built with a different purpose in mind: to serve as a global, iconic symbol for the city of Dubai – something it has definitely achieved.
The Most Expensive Suite in the Burj al Arab - It is the fourth-tallest hotel in the world and the third-tallest hotel in Dubai, standing at 321 metres tall, despite the fact that 39% of the Burj al Arab is non-occupable space. The Rotana Rose Rayhaan hotel and the JW Marriott Marquis take the spot for first and third tallest hotels in the world, both of which are also located in Dubai.
